Which oil?

I'm wanting to buy some oil with a view to topping up when necessary. The engine has the long life oil in, but I can only find the VW code for this oil in the handbook. Does anyone know the rating so I can get some of the shelf, rather than through VW?

Its called Castrol edge mate, about 14 quid a litre from halfrauds. make sure you get the 5W-30. If you take the VW spec from your handbook you will be able to check on the bottle as the code is on there.

I was given a small VW leather bag with my rocco, velcro'd to the side of the boot. Had a litre of oil and some castrol cardboard funnels and wipes etc... No one else got that?

Afaik, the oil type is different in different countries.

In norway, the dealers use Shell Oil.

My dealer gave me a litre of Shell Helix in a little silver bag that fits behind the strap on the left hand side of the boot.
I am obviously not giving it enough wellie though as it it is still in place
