Blue motion engines

Has anybody taken delivery of the new blue motion engine yet ? If so what is it like ? Can you turn it off,? and is it a noisy engine ?

Why would the engine be any noisier? It's the same engine as the normal 2.0TDI 140CR. As Diesels go, VWs are very quiet, and aren't clattery even when cold (unlike my mate's 59 plate BMW320 which is very clattery when cold). The engine on/off at a standstill (like at traffic lights) may annoy some, but I believe you can turn that feature off (button at base of steering column? I read that somewhere) and only gain benefit from the brake regeneration if you do so.

19" alloys - you're brave if you're using them on the uk roads in winter. Had a pothole impact and a sidewall bulge in the tyre. Got it replaced at my local ATS yesterday and fitter said he'd had 3 other Rocs in that week for tyre replacement. 2 of those 4 were 19" wheels, and both of those had cracked alloys from the impact, so new wheel and new tyre needed. Don't know whether it's a common thing with VW, but BMW 19" alloys are notoriously fragile on their run-flat tyres.
