Run Flat Tyres???

Aparently our Rocco has Run Flat Tyres?
at least i thought it did? Sure i read it somewhere?
we were under the impression that Run Flat meant exactly that and if they got a puncture we could simply drive to the nearest dealer/kwik fit etc to get the tire repaired or replaced if necessary?

We were a little confused today when we opened the boot and pulled up the carpet to find a spare tyre :eyepop: :eyepop: :eyepop:
Have i got it wrong how Run Flats work and you still need a spare?

Or hasn't our Rocco got Run Flats after all?

Jodie :)

:shake:
Nope, they are self sealing which is not the same thing. See here.
Running the tyre while flat will damage it in the same way as an ordinary tyre, hence your spare.

Read the Continental Tyres link.

I think they are more part of the BlueMotion package on the 140PS TDi.

Jodie your car does have the self seal tyre.
Have a look at the pic you posted at around the 8'o clock position it says "seal inside".
I have the same set on mine.
