Race of Champions

Post by Kev »

Dunno if anyone saw it but the Scirocco was in the race of champions this weekend.

I was busy so I missed it but it's usually repeated on one of the satellite sports channels.

Ooh I didn't realise they were using it again, may have to see what highlights I can find to watch & much remember to see where they are going next year..
I heard that Team Germany (Vettle & Schumacher) won.. again.

Germany won - any sour grapes about Schumacher using his favourite vehicle (the buggy) every round would obviously be misplaced (supposedly Mercedes wouldn't let him drive other manufacturers' cars). Funniest bit was watching Michele Mouton roll an old rally Quattro S on the kerb shown in Kev's first picture. No harm done to humans, but the car looked a little worse for wear. Best bit was observing the excellent car control, especially when they were hustling a racing Audi R8 along the very narrow and twisty track.
Ordered 14/8/2010. Scheduled BW4 2011. In dealer Feb 4th 2011. Driving Feb 11th 2011

Kovalainen Managed to right off a Audi R8 LMS with his girlfriend in the passenger seat. Have a look on You Tube for it, bits of body work and barrier every were. It must of scared him because he pulled out after that.

i saw that R8 crash live on telly. jammed throttle lol hmmm

looks like he tapped the outside barrier on final corner trying to beat Loeb, and may have broke something or he kept his foot in it for the line...and then realised uh oh i ain't going round this corner so lets tip it in sideways and trash the course and car.

It's ROC - Race of Champions..so not even sure why Kovaleinan is in it!!!

PS: R Cup coming back over with the DTM weekend of 3rd/4th September 2011. I'm gonna go there again. :)

I think he means how does he qualify as a champion to even be in it. He won the Nissan world series in 2004.
