Hi all,
I didnt spec the MFSW to my new 60 plate but i wish I did now, if i bought one on ebay how easy would it be for someone to fit? ie coding etc?
I have quite limited tech knowledge, so Id let someone else do it, is it possible?
Many thanks

as per the first link its not as simple as just retrofitting the multi function steering wheel, your car does not have the highline computer required to process the commands and therefore make it function, without the highline it would just be a fancy ornament.
what requires replacing to have a functioning highline computer

at best possibly the dash cluster (plus MFSW) being changed [if thats the case the car must go to VW as immobiliser, mileage, etc etc need to be coded in so the car goes rather than disabling itself], at worst ...
in the second link my post part way down the page is worth considering too; if you did it or got someone else to fit it would VW honour the warranty should anything go wrong with it that you can't fix, if you got VW to fit it how much would they charge you, how much would your insurer charge you to declare it as it would be a modification
If you seriously want to consider it go for it & make some enquiries as to the cost & I wish you the best of luck
