MDI / which cables?

Post by IverPotter »

Hi all,

Probably a very basic question but I just took delivery of an 11-month old Scirocco.

So the MDI cable is plugged in to the media-in socket which leaves a USB port at the other end. I tried connecting my standard USB to iPod lead to it but the interface says "device not recognised" - am I missing a VW MDI to iPod cable to get it to work?

Many thanks,
Sean

Just did a bit of googling. Do I need a 000 051 446 C: Connector MDI - iPod/iPhone?

There should be a cable spefically for your i-pod that fits with the MDI connection in your arm rest. Either the previous owner still has it or it never had one.
