Hiya,

I stupidly decided to wipe some bird poop off my bonnett using kitchen towel (bad idea).

The Roc is in pearl black and you can see where the material has lightly marked the surfaced.

I do not have much luck with paintwork, so wanted to get some advice on what to do next, before I put the t-cut to it (potentially making it worst)

NEVER t cut a pearlesent finish....

I thought that might be the case!

Any alternative suggestions?

I can't imagine the damage being deep!

It'd polish out with Autoglym Super Resin Polish wouldn't it?

Why ?, there is a coat of lacquer on top of the paint on VW black, not that i recommend T-Cut itself, but you can cut with a better product

Super resin actually has very little if any cut, a machine polish would sort this easyily, for an off the shelf option you could get some megs scratch x and alot of elbow grease , if you was close to me i would machine it out for you

Everything marks the topcoat on the Pearl Black! Meguires Scratch X is best used with a new clean microfibre towel. Polish the whole car with 'OPT Optimum Car Wax' afterwards. It's a clear liquid in a trigger gun. It also does your plastics.

Personally, I think machine polish the way forward. SRP will just fill in the imperfections, but not resolve the issue.

Nothing wrong with using T-cut on pearl black it works perfect just don't let it dry out buff it off quickly then use some polish to bring back the finish.
