Hey all,
Well here is my first uploaded picture of my new 2010 black on black TSI
I won't go into details of the options etc, but its safe to say I couldn't be happier with the purchase!! Thanks to everyone who's helped answer my questions in the run up.. Plenty more pics to come once we get some better weather on the east coast!
I did the Richter sport run yesterday for a fiscon install, passed about 7-8 Rocs in all including parking next to a lovely pewter grey at a services/rest stop.
See you on the road!

, I'd advise you to get some good wax on it asap before the weather takes a turn for the worst.

On that note, I've opted to go for the lifeshine... booked in for next week. I'm a little concerned about how easy the black could show up marks, having already had a bird related incident.. I figure this is a good option when I might not have all the time for a detailed auto-perfection style routine myself..
Fingers crossed!

Trix,
I'm going for the dealership.. So Robinsons! I figure they'll be as reliable as any... Just looking forward to having a bit more peace of mind about the finish
ps.. I've not seen you on the road yet, very disappointed!!

noooooo please look into local detailers, they will give a much more quality finish, with the dealer it will be higt & miss which monkey will be told to apply it. you never know it may be cheaper for a detailer to give the car a going over to set you up for winter. i'm sure I can get some recommendations from the boys on PHEA.

i'm sorry, i'm not over that side of the county much, serves you right for living in the arse end of nowhere! I still haven't seen Linda on the road in her viper & she lives less than 4 miles down the road from me!

Trix,
I'm not that up on the local detailers and their reputation, appreciate any tips though...

Nice! it looks like a ninja on the road. Be careful at night though, muppets seem to believe the Rocs are actually stealth and can drive through them :o

Hi Maq,
I've been looking at doing the Fiscon install, but just trying to work out the best way of doing it. Did you buy the kit from Fiscon first, and then get a local audio specialist to fit it? What price did you pay for the kit?

Maq went down to Richter Sport/Fiscon UK (
our sponsors) in Milton Keynes to get his kit fitted & coded in, I'm not aware of anyone else round our way (Norfolk) who installs them.

Hello Trix,
Looked on their website, see that they charge £500 for kit + install. Spoke with local audio specialist who said that if I brought the kit, they'd install it...they estimate install time of 1-2 hours @ £40.00 p/h. Buying kit from Fiscon is £352.00, so plus £80.00 would be quite a bit cheaper.
Not sure how much labour is involved in install, whether they may not do as good a job as Richter Sport?
Regards,
Jon

Richter did the install for 350+ VAT, all in.. good value and I got to go on a road trip on the second day of ownership
I did find guy in the Ipswich area who would travel to me to install for £500, but it seemed a bit expensive when I could have a day out driving and really get to know the Roc.
Highly recommend Richter Sport, their installation was quick and seamless.. Great service.
