Thats the good news as it was ordered on ist.nov 09,and is now on a ship to sheerness. bad news is i no longer require it as ive had an identical one since may and have done 13000 glorious miles on the clock. more good news is that if anybody wants a 2011 model at the fixed price i was paying then they can have the car at the pre vat price.vw will arrange courtesey cars if youve waited 20 weeks and still not had your car, but because the hire company couldn't supply anything suitable and my 'helpful' dealer wouldn't use one of there stock cars vw bent over backwards to get me into the car i have now got.you just need to speak nicely to the right people at vwcs and get case no. and this will work wonders.Car is now here and available for immediate delivery - see my post in buy and sell.

I ordered my car same time as you in Nov 2009 and my car is due to finally arrive in two weeks time. Currently my car is in portugal awaiting for shipment. It has been nearly a year since I placed my order and is probably the longest delivery time I ever experienced for purchasing a new car from factory order.

I was given a courtesy car through a hire car company VW Customer Serivce had arranged. I was suppose to get a vehicle for like for like, but settled with VW Golf TSI initially and mostly recently given a TDI. Obviously a Scirocco was not available!!!!

If you don't mind me asking what kind of car were you supplied with?

I was offered a zafira (joke) and then a focus 1.4 by the hire company,my VW dealer who also has other brand dealerships would not release a loan car from their stock even though they were asked to by vwcs

'snap' my car has been manufactured and is awaiting a shipment. It seems that a batch has been produced as Ladyrocs is also getting delivered soon. What a wait - unbelievable really.

Peters - I was thinking EXACTLY the same as I read the thread and got to yours! I am getting really really excited now! I think mine is awaiting shipment too so we should all get them at the same time :-)

That is such a unbelievable wait you lot have had, not sure i would have hung out for that long, Post some pictures when they arrive, i have not seen another R on the road yet, still a rare thing.

saw 2 others at Castle Combe today...both in RB!

LadyRoc, also as a coincidence, I think my car is comming from the same dealer, was speaking with Darren today..

PETERS..........NO WAY!!!! LOL - so will we be glaring at each other driving round the local roads?????????? Annoyed that there is another R in our locality! I am in AiM... PLEASE don't say you are too! We'd be like buses! Wait for a year then you get 2 in one week!

Darren has sold us cars for 20 yrs! He's a fab bloke isn't he?

Nice to see some of the folks that ordered the same time as me are finally getting their R's.
I can't get my head round why they took 7 months longer to arrive than mine dont know if I would have been as patient waiting as some on here.

Any ways hope you all enjoy your R's when they come, still love mine
