Drivers side thigh support RHS
Anyone else with leather notice how easily this is creased from getting in and out of the car?

Re: Drivers side thigh support RHS
think your either lucky or unlucky with this and its purely down to the cut of the leather (an actual real bit) adorning your seatBadBoy wrote:Anyone else with leather notice how easily this is creased from getting in and out of the car?
i managed to get a new drivers seat cover under warranty on the GTI as it badly creased after 2k, replacement is fine nearly two years later, however, know of others not so lucky

Mine seems OK at the moment, my old Edition 30 looked a bit rough after about 3k miles but to be honest after the initial marking it never really got much worse

it is quite poor though, should be much firmer as the LHS is mint no crease whatsoever.

Thats whay VW leather interios are a bad idea.
They wear really badly, there is an awful lot of low mileage cars with pretty tatty looking drivers / passeneger seats. But the Cloth interiors look fine.

Really???? In my opinion the cloth interior has never looked fine. Can't understand anyone buying a car with that upholstery.Andy-GTI wrote:Thats whay VW leather interios are a bad idea.

i think the cloth is quite interesting. Bit different in terms of materials and texture. Leather looks great though can't deny that.... until it gets old... a couple of months old by the sounds of it. :-S

I chose the cloth interior because I liked the looks, but after 14k its already showing wear on the drivers seat... I am not big build and take care of the car getting in and out. Thinking of taking it to the garage but I am afraid warranty will not cover it

I think it's partly down to how you get in and out of the car, do you squash the side bolster? And unfortunately, it also depends on the size of your arse... One of my friends is large in the rear and when ever he's been in the passenger seat the bolster takes ages to recover and for the creases to stretch them selves out.
I've got no problems with my car after 14000 miles, and I'm not exactly a lightweight.
I don't think the Scirocco is any worse than any other VAG product. There's a dedicated thread, always at the top, on the TT website for stretched leather and people getting seats swapped under warranty.

Re: Drivers side thigh support RHS
My bolsters were creased from day one, it is down to the design and the manufacturing. TT seats suffer the same issue.
