Scirocco Central

Just wondering what people's car history is pre-rocco, what other VAG cars have people owned?

For starters, I'm trading my Skoda Fabia VRS in for the Rocco and before that i had a Seat Arosa 16v Sport.

I've also got a 1981 Mk1 Jetta in the garage

So come on people, whats your history and what depp dark secrets are you hiding in your car closet?

Various MK2 Golfs and a 2006 9N3 Polo GTI

Still got a MK2 GTI thats a bare shell being fully rebuilt with a 2.8 24v VR6 engine from a MK4 4motion.

Also going to look at another MK2 GTI next weekend

soon to be (1st march)

Scirocco - Candy White, Truffle Vienna Leather, DAB, Dynaudio, Folding Mirrors etc

1988 - MarkI 1.3 CL - Well that's what it said on the back - GTI engine and a set of lovely gold alloys - I was 19 and thought I owned the world!!!

2005 - Mark IV GT 150 TDI - What I saved on fuel I spent on tyres
2007 - Mark V GT 130 TDI - One of my best mates!!
Scirocco 2.0 GT TSI - All loved up!!!

Bought my first car, a 54 plate MK5 Golf 1.6FSI DSG in July 2007, sold it before the Scirocco arrived.

Currently own this at the moment. Mk3 2.8 VR6 in a very rare standard colour. Up for sale though, but I wouldn't mind having it as a 2nd car.

Nice car mate, what colour is it? I don't think I've seen it before. Whats the spec, they look like S3 rims.

My first VAG car was my 08 VW Eos. Which broke my heart with the roof leaks.

After a massive with the dealership, my broken heart is now mended, and coloured Rising Blue

Only the one VAG so far, absolutely no probs with her.

May have been good but can't wait for my 'rocco to arrive.

After a series of "F**ked Or Repaired Daily’s" worst being a 1984 XR2 I got my first VW a new 1988 Golf GTi 8v and never looked back.

1988 - new red Mk2 Golf Gti 8v amazing car way better than any Ford will ever be

1990 - new red Mk2 Golf Gti 8v I had this one for three years but had to sell it as the hot hatch theft rate trebled the insurance at the time...

1991 - second hand red Mk2 Golf 1.6 driver I bought this for cheap insurance and kept it for six weeks and bought the one below

1991 - second hand red Mk2 Golf 1.6 GTD 90hp diesel a very rare car this one they were only made for two years it ended up with a Gti 16v Bilstein suspension kit with Eibach springs on it and handled brilliant, I kept it for three years and I still regret selling it to this day

1993 - second hand red Polo 1.3 Genisis I bought this one as a run about while looking for a 2.0 16v Corrado it stayed around for three years as I couldn't find a good Corrado and didn't like the MK3 Golf Gti (way too slow)

1998 - second hand red Polo 16v fantasitc little car with 1.4 100hp engine again kept it for three years

2001 - second hand blue (nightmare as it wasn't red) Skoda Felicia 1.9d as a run about as I had to wait 3 months for a factory ordered Fabia VRS.

2005 - 2009 new red Fabia VRS I'am not joking here this car has been one of the best I've ever owned it does everything brillantly but its getting on for 4 years old and its time for a change, I'll be sad to see it go...

2009 - I'am about to order a black (I can't believe VW doesn't offer Tornado red for the Scirocco.. ) GT tdi Scirocco after missing out owning a Corrado all those years ago I'am treating myself to VW's new coupe...

Not all mine but one's in the family i can recall;

Audi 90 Quattro 20V Turbo

A4 2.8 Quattro

S3 (was my mums but i basically nicked it and did about 30k miles in it )

A3 2.0 FSI (was mine for 3 years)

A3 Sportback 3.2 Quattro DSG (one of the lumpiest, worst handling, worst riding cars i've ever driven. Heavy thirsty, drove like crap.- folks bought that one without my usual input)

A3 2.0 TFSI DSG (or 'S-Tronic' as audi call it now) belongs to my sister, good car.

erm..most of those either belonged to me or my Mother, my Dad had a succession of big boring Audi land-barges (Audi 100, A8, A6, A6 Avant and such)

Only one myself:

2002 VW Polo 1.2(65) SE - No rocket ship that's for sure, but a lovely little run-around. It was a shame to see her go, very sad - well at least for the 12 hours before I picked up the Scirocco!

But previously had access to:

1999 VW Passat 1.8T(150) SE - Dad's company car when I had just passed my test! Had so much fun in it at the time, though with some of the antics we got up to in it, I'm probably lucky to still be here!
