Is RCD 510 Aux in Handsfree??

Hi,
At the risk of sounding a bit stupid....
Im currently waiting for my 1.4TSi and was wondering if the RCD510 has an Aux in, then if I connect my smartphone (which holds my tunes at the moment) then surely if I get a call, it would come through the speakers- effectively making it a handsfree system??
Or am I barking up the wrong tree here...?

Aux in will only output what audio is playing on your device. If you receive a call you'd still have to answer the phone physically . It may output the call thru the speakers but that depends on the way your phone works but certainly won't be "hands free"
Sorry
Now have a search for Fiscon or Bluetooth options

Viper,
It will possibly send the sound of the call thorugh the speakers but you would have to hold the phone to your face for the other person to be able to hear you. The amount of back ground noise in the car would kill your voice.
Fiscon do a bluetooth adaptor that fits the head unit and allows you to use the controls/radio screen/DIS as if it was factory. It's also really really easy to fit.

I have a Nokia N97 that I use exactly how you describe. The phone is plugged into the Aux in and plays through the cars speakers and I talk through the phones mic. The phone is mounted in a windscreen bracket. I only really have a problem with people hearing me when I am on the highway at 120kph.
But the Fiscon solution is a much better bet and I will be getting one nearer the end of the year.

I own a Samsung Galaxy 3 phone, and have it connected via adapter
and instead of headphones i connected a "mini-jack to mini-jack" cable

and then to the aux-in of my car and sounds clear.
It outputs the call through the speakers while speaking hands free.
I'm just pushing the button on the adapter to accept the call and having the phone in the holder by the hanbreak.
P.S. It only cost me 7€.
