Really like the wheels appreciate them a lot more up close, gonna play with the MFC tonight to!

Despite reading all the manuals online and looking at all the pictures its soooooo much better in 3D! lol

There seems to be a lot of Rising Blues on here but i will post some pictures...anyone looking for specific pictures of car parts let me know!

No i am getting an error message when i press it to activate dont recall the exact message but its along the lines of 'unit malfunction' or something... its not just that tho its the steering wheel and all the gubbins on that listed as:

Cruise control - not working.
Horn - Not working [no puns please widget!]. Central peice of the steering wheel all seems a bit wobbly come to think of it...
VIS - No buttons work. Noticed the consumption figure was constantly diving around figures from 14 - 200 and never settled?
Audio - No buttons work.

So picked up :D 11:30am yesterday i dropped it off this morning 8a.m. and am generally a bit pi**ed off today  as you can probably imagine... anyone had anything similar happen?

Update...

Been told the problem is thought to be the 'steering wheel interface unit'... wtf is that? Told the part is on order and will be onsite for fitting tomorrow. However, technical are not 100% that this is the issue and only once this unit is replaced will they be able to update me!

So right now am carless! cant even stare at it out the f**king window!

Sooooo...What is this unit  and has anyone come across it before or hand problems with it?

Hope so knowing my luck these are the last decent weekends of weather we will have... suppose ill be pootling around in the 1.2l polo...which i've found to be fun actually.

To be honest i'd be in a worse mood if it wasnt for the salesman at VW Liverpool...top guy.

60 plate. Picked up Wednesday.

I suggest they have a manufacturing defect. Or a rogue operator. I've booked my car into VW Derby on Friday. Called them to order the unit in advance. They'll get back to me to see if they can do this. Something about it being under warranty and needing to see the problem first.

Same colour, similar spec, same delivery date..... hmmm

It's frustrating witha new car. Hopefully we can get this fixed. I'll share any info I get here.

I had some information off one of the Moderators who has suggested that the part in question is programmed by the dealers?

VW are contacting me at some point today to update me so ill post the helpful bits!

It is normal practice in a lot of dealerships. If VW do not agree, the cost falls onto the garage so they:
1. - Need to verify there is a problem.
2. - Agree with VW they can claim warranty costs.
3. - Then order the correct parts as agreed with VW.

VeeDub Derby have just told me they've ordered the unit which is great news. Hope Gareth's is OK....
