Holy schmoly, order in April and deliver in December and that was the original plan?! I've read about the DSG delay but nothing about the pano roof causing extra lead time.

Pano roofs had a supply problem right back at the begining of the MY2009 models which caused delays back then. Not picked up anything recently.

That time is unreasonable. If not already, get your "Commission Number" from the dealer, not your invoice number on the paperwork you were given on the day of the deal. Ring Customer Services with it to hand and have chat about your order with them.

Is a 'Commision number' the same as an 'Order number' that appears on a VW Order Confirmation Form ?

The delay you mention due to a sunroof doesn't sound right, my Roc is docking in Port Elizabeth tomorrow and was built on schedule with pano sunroof, DSG, PDC and xenons.

But then again all I hope it arrives with all the options I ordered! :-)

No the comission number is the number of your order with VW HQ, the order number on your order form from the dealer is your order number with the Dealer only, VW customer services can only advise the status of an order if you have your comission number

1st time posting so hello everyone!

Avi I ordered my car in June with a pano roof, my estimated delivery was december (build week 43 + shipping),
got a call yesterday from my dealer my build was actually moved closer its now build week 38 with delivery late October early November.

I would also suggest calling VW Customer services they were actually really helpful. They called up my dealer and gave him a bit of a talking to
and now he's my best bud in the whole world

Now I'm seriously pissed with the salesman.
I called VW this morning and they said they will check up and get back to me later today.

Any idea what "CONFIRMED SGW" means? It appears on the Order Report.

I dont know exactly when the order went through, but the way I understand it is that your build date is only confirmed about a month before the
car actually goes into production.

I used McCarthy VW in Constantia, as they were the only dealers I found that we not completely useless
and were willing to give me a decent deal.

Avi , I would be inclined to believe VWSA because I have also received a build week of 38, and it stands to reason that if the factory
is doing production run they would be inclined to group it according to country.

If you do decide to rethink your order I have just been past VW in Woodmead and they have a 2.0 tsi in stock.

I decided to wait.... after-all it is a SCIROCCO... there's no other car i would have preferred. Week 38 is a couple weeks away. I'll see what other excuses VW can think up. Maybe they will surprise me and meet the delivery date.

A Scirocco meet for SA guys is a good idea, unfortunately I suc at managing an event. I cant even get people to attend a 3 year-olds birthday party.
