White is best :hyper:
1) Not on mine (week 16 2010 approx)
2) Press and hold the lock button
3) not aware of this but it will lock itself after a length of time (about a minute iirc) if you leave it unlocked

It should work automatically.
Certainly on the DSG it will hold the car for 2-3 seconds before you start to move off.
I assume the manual box cars work the same.

Keep your finger on the lock button.
Similarly if you unlock it and hold the button down the windows will drop.

Haven't heard of that one.
I know if you unlock it and don't do anything for a couple of minutes it will lock itself.

Firstly Congrats Typerboy

Secondly, your question (3), you can not get the car to unlock automatically when you are near it, as I understand you are meaning something akin to keyless entry.
this is not an option or function on the scirocco as it would require various transmitters and receivers within the car to locate the key at a set distance.

Hill hold needs a certain gradient for it to work I think as well, so no point trying to get it to work on a flat surface.

Highly surprising I think you got a smashing looking car :) About keyless entry, called KESSY (according to the owner's manual), seems it's available on most markets (well..DE/SE/US) but not in the UK or at least I couldn't find it in the car configurator. Retrofitting seems..complicated (if possible at all).
Candy White 1.4 TSI 160 - DSG, ACC, 18" Interlagos (Euro Premium&Sport packs), Alu Door Sills, Current VCDS Mods Needle Sweep, Cornering Fog Lights, Alarm Chirp, Emergency Break Warning, Dension Gateway 5, sort of..
