Scirocco Central

Had the scirocco for 10 days and have noticed a rather annoying high-pitched metallic ringing noise that comes from the engine when I hit 2000 rpm. Is this the turbo or a common engine sound? Generally does it when its cold, but is a little bit annoying.

Thanks Trix. There are still quite a few things it could be though. Need to do a bit more investigating.

Wastegate rattle. 'characteristic' of engine according to VW.
get a remap, intake and exhaust system and you should be able to overpower the rattle with other cool noises.
