Hi

Has anyone heard of the Dension gateway 5? I have just come across it online and it looks like a cheaper altenative to the Fiscon unit to get full bluetooth functionality with and Iphone through the RCD510.

I already have premium bluetooth but am thinking about replacing it with this as I want an Iphone - anyone know anymore??

Looks pretty good, saw it being sold on ebay around 200 quid. I used to have an ice>Link in my previous car, good stuff so I wouldn't hesitate to get another Dension solution, in fact..this might just be the thing to get as I don't have any BT and no USB connection on my RCD510 (no MediaIN with the car in Sweden).

Surely you just want to get the Skoda bluetooth box then and swap it with the rSAP one that is already in your car?

Yeah I would like to but I have been quoted over £300 for the Skoda box - unless someone can let me know where to buy it cheaper?

what is the problem with iPhones? I paired up my iPhone and transferred my Contacts, all 800 of them, in about 5 minutes, less time than it took to pair up the wife's Nokia. Works better than any Bluetooth iPhone connection I have ever used with the iPhone before, too.

IPhones liked to held by the base, portriat mode, at right angles to the floor and waved about a bit when being paired.

If you have a car built before week 22 (early June) this year with integrated 'premium' Bluetooth (no separate screen) that kit is only rsap not full Bluetooth so did not work with iPhone which do not have rsap.

You don't have the problem (car with only rsap functionality) so you don't need to worry.

Cheers. I understand now. Though I was told that both the Saab and the Volvo before the Scirocco were iPhone incompatible and it turned out just to be a matter of patience and waving it around.
