To Sunroof or not???

Post by paulmaddocks »

Hey all,

Whats the feeling on the sunroof. I have to say on the black model it blends in very well and you can't even see it until you get in. However funcationally, it barely opens at all (only tilts up, doesn't slide). Worried about how the black glass might look on other colours though.....

As a £700ish extra, is it worth it in the UK where we don't exactly have a summer to write home about..

Thoughts and comments - whos ordered one, whos passed it by?

Ordered it, with a pearl black specced car. It does blend in from the outside however once inside it obviously allows in more light creating a more roomier feel. However it cuts out a lot of the UV radiation so it doesnt heat up the car in the summers we don't have here.

I like it, and am not concerned it doesnt open too much - if I want air in the car I'll either use the air con, open the window or buy a convertible instead.

I agree,
I've ordered one for my Rising Blue and seen one in the metal (and sat in it) at my dealers - looks great IMHO
Does let more light in the cabin . Having driven one without ,the interior does feel a little more claustrophobic.
All in all very happy with my choice.

I really like the sunroof on the black scirocco but I just think it looks wrong from the side on, for any other colour.

I so wish they had followed the clc design which covers the whole roof.

I think I have finally decieded I am not going to go for one... going for Shadow blue so don't want the black section to spoil that, also although it makes a bit lighter in the car, its only really an issue in the back seats, and exactly how often do you thing I will be sitting in those!!!! :D

Placing my order Friday and once thats done, no more umming and arring

No sunroof for me.
At 6ft tall, cabin height could be an issue but my puma doesn't have one and I don't miss it to be honest, especially at it basically just tilts a couple of inches. I'll put the cash towards something more useful to me.

Iv not opted for one, I decided that the price to functionality ratio doesnt weigh up. If it was a bit cheaper I would have got one, as mines comming in black so it would have blended in nicely. Fair enough, it lets more light in etc, but I cant justify paying that much for it.

I have it on mine and use it all the time, worth the money IMO just to let fresh air in rather than having window open when raining.
