Scirocco Central

Does anyone know the differences between the 'roc R and the GT suspension? (I.e. do they have different springs/shocks or is the control unit different or programmed differently?)

springs are 15mm lower. shocks are prolly the same.

ACC/DCC is set differently (1 step up on R) so Normal/Sport on GT is Comfort/Normal on R.

Thanks Chungster, I'll have a look around to see if theres any way to mod the ACC/DCC on my GT

Springs are only 10mm lower, 0.5mm thicker wire aswell.

Dampers are the same.

Only difference on the ACC is the control unit, and it is not simply just "one step up"

Really just a firmer setup, more akin to the R. I don't really want to fit non VW parts for the suspension just yet so wondering about what changes are required to enhance the GT's to bring closer to the R

Don;t bother with the R stuff.

My suspension is miles better on the HR springs than the stock R setup.

Don;t bother with the R stuff.

My suspension is miles better on the HR springs than the stock R setup.

Does that affect warranty Andy?

its the same as for cars with remaps (which you have already got so kind of throws the fitting non VW stuff out the window already to an extent ) the warranty is only affected on problems proven to have arisen from the springs/remap/aftermarket parts
they can't say they won't cover a door lock breaking because you've got a remap or lowering springs

Why don't you just buy an R...it would probably cost about £100-150 extra pm...thats one or two nights out depending on how much you drink or eat.

I don't understand this R wanna be gang... i guess it's like having a girl with a fantastic body but not so pretty face and another with a beautiful face and a beautiful body... they are just not the same.

Anyway... keep er lit and enjoy your scirocco.

Company co2 emissions scheme prevented me from getting the R, the next best thing was the GT so hence the upgrade talk. I would have got the R if I could have done, money isn't the restricting factor in my situation.
