Scirocco Central

At the moment I'm putting the kit together for a full 2 day detailing of the car towards the end of Aug. Basically I'm house sitting for the folks up north while they go on hols so weather and hangover permitting it'll be a way of passing a couple of days.
One thing I've never bothered with in all my time cleaning the car is using any kind of wax on the wheels. I use the Bilberry to clean and give them a quick dry and that's it.
So, any recommendations welcome or should i just save my money and stick to a quick clean of the wheels?

In our opinion, it's definitely well worth putting either a dedicated wheel wax or sealant on the wheels... not only does it help to keep them nice and shiney, but it will also help to reduce the build up of road grime and muck, as well as helping to repel things like brake dust and tar, which makes the wheels much easier to clean and maintain.

There are a couple of good options available... some of our favourites are Rimwax Wheel Wax, Poorboys Wheel Sealant, FK1000P or our own formula Wheel Sealant. Which one to go for really is down to personal preference - all of them are easy to use, all of them are designed specifically to withstand harsher conditions that wheels are subjected to, and all of them leave behind a nice glossy finish... the only difference really is price (and smell! )

If you're looking at products that are gentler on the pocket, then either our own Wheel Sealant or Poorboys Wheel Sealant would be your best options - both excellent products but at a good price.

Slightly more expensive is the Rimwax, but again, it's an excellent product so it's well worth the money.

If you're looking for something that you can use for other things (rather than having to buy a product dedicated purely to the wheels) then it would have to be the FK1000P, as you can use this product on the paintwork.

Thanks for the advice, it would be purely for the wheels as I've already got the bodywork products waiting to go.
What I'll do is have a look at the links when I get home onto the laptop then pop an order in. I'll more than likely pop some kind of wheel cleaning brush and APC for the arches on as well, makes sense to get it all in 1 go.

Th FK 1000 really is the product to go for on you alloys. Looks great and brilliant endurance.
