2010 Großer Preis Santander von Deutschland

It will be held in Hockenheim, Germany on July 25, 2010. This will be Michael Schumacher's first race in his home country Germany since the 2006 German Grand Prix after coming out of retirement this year. This will also be Mercedes GP's first home race as a works team since returning to the sport after a 55 year absence and buying out the Brawn GP team.

After the success of the Canadian Grand Prix, tyre supplier Bridgestone announced their intentions to increase the difference in the tyre compounds supplied for the race. Instead of bringing compounds "one step" apart - such as the soft and hard variants - the company elected to bring the extremes in rubber compounds - super-soft and hard - citing the properties of the Hockenheim circuit as being ideal for creating a situation similar to the race in Montreal.

Ferrari SHOULD be very embarrassed but they probably won't be. I think the body language and answers from Massa on the podium and press conference said it all really.

Ferrari has been fined $100,000 and referred to the World Motor Sport Council for team orders and bringing sport into disrepute

I wonder what sort of punishment they'll get? Another fine? Points deducted ? Expulsion from the drivers' and/or manufacturers' championship?

looks like its just the fine mentioned by Kev above 76.
it just seems to me like a token gesture by the FIA because of the uproar from the fans & media, if they were really going to hit them with anything of consequence they would have begun investigation during the race when it happened (20 laps ish from the end) not sat on their arses till everyone was talking about it & nothing else afterwards

But presumably the WMSC will have something to say when they next sit as the issue's been referred to them. Don't forget - these are the same guys who handed McLaren a record $100m fine. Not saying it'll be anything of that magnitude but I think this story is far from over.

Lets face it - Ferrari are the most corupt team in this sport, they always get of lightly because their team boss sits on the board of the FIA. Its crazy!

Have to agree so corrupt. if it was Mclaren they would of been banned for the rest of the season I reckon! Absolute disgrace. No one like Alonso anyway why let him win. Far more support for Massa!

Some cheats yesterday
There was delight in Italy this morning following clear signs that the Ferrari F1 team is back on form.

‘We ‘ave been very worried that Ferrari was not at the top of the game this season,’ said Frode Voluminosa of fan club Tifosi Inglese. ‘For sure, we saw moments of the old brilliance such as blatantly testing new parts and the calling it a “photo session”, but there was not the consistent rule bending and total disregard for the sport that we ‘ope for’.

‘Of course, there was plenty of moaning,’ Mr Voluminosa continued. ‘And this gave us ‘ope that de team still ‘ad within them the burning spirit to really insult the intelligence of all F1 fans and basically, ‘ow you say, take a massive shit all over the sport’.

Following the Scuderia’s blatant team orders at the German Grand Prix, Ferrari fans are filled with a renewed belief that the rest of this season the team will be able to lie, cheat and whinge its way to the top.

‘We are committed to a Ferrari world championship victory in 2010,’ said a spokesman. Unfortunately, that spokesman was FIA president Jean Toad.
