Yes they are rubbish but in this case it happens to be a good thing, Halfords currently have bettered the usual 3 for 2 they have on cleaning chemicals to make it Buy One Get One FREE!!!!!!

Just remember its the cheaper item free.

I've just been & got 2 bottles of Megs Gold Class Shampoo, paid, popped them in the car, & toddled back in & did a second pass to grab 2 Megs Smooth Surface Clay kits  all in all about £40 saved  that will do nicely

Is the autoglym and megs stuff any good?

Only reason i say this is i want to give the car its first decent going over at the weekend and was looking to buy some bits from autoperfection, but this bogof deal looks pretty good and would save a load of dough :) Was gonna go for the deal they had on the detailing kit, but didnt really want to spend over £100.

you should be able to get a decent basic kit of stuff Steve (you may need abit of forward planning & a few trips to get the best amount of discount) then top up with the specialist bits from Autoperfection.

definitely grab a clay kit, shampoo (personally been recommended megs gold class hence me grabbing it) & perhaps some polish & glass cleaner from halfords but i'd say you would be better grabbing wax from Autoperfection, unless autoglym hd floats your boat (doesn't mine at that price)

Thanks trix :)

Yeh sounds like a good idea to me, may have to pop down there after work!

Want to get some protection on the seats aswell, would u recommend getting something like scotchgard and giving them a good spray over?

definitely  thats what i did
grab a big can & it will do the seats with some left over, just make sure you don't need to use the car for a few hours when you do it as it needs to air & dry off
(& do the backs of the front seats too)

erm, as I said to Steve above really, grab a clay kit, shampoo, some glass cleaner & some polish but get wax & wheel stuff from Taryn & Jim as they have alot more of a selection & can advise.

well i've got the Mer glass cleaner & rain away which i'm happy with ( the rain away isn't classed as car cleaning products though)
in terms of polish again I ended up with Mer but am not massively enthused with it, it does the job though, Halfords stock Autoglym SRP & Zymol both of which which people rate
