Guys & Gals, Here's one for ya!
The 'mirror down on reverse' function has worked fine & dandy on my car since I had it in December - with both keys....
This week, the function has ceased to operate, but only with one key, the key I use all the time [with the 'other' key it still works ok]
I really need both keys to operate this - I use the mirror down putting the car in the garage - The 'Good Lady' needs it to keep off the kerbs when parking......
So, why is this so..........
I've fannied about with it, changing settings on the MFD etc, then changing back, etc but to no avail - so am I missing something really obvious? All other functions work ok with both keys as I set them up when I got the car.
Confused. Still at least it's Friday!

Steve
have you tried recoding/rejoining the key with the car, there should be how to do it in the manual for when the key battery goes flat, could be a possibility can understand how annoying this is

Re: Mirror Down / Spare Key
I swear I read in the Manual that both keys can be used for different settings - so one key for your Girlfriend can set things one way and other key for you can do things another way.
Not sure if this was the Scirocco or if this was my last car though!

Yup, the pair of keys can be set up for different preferences. Confused me at first when I used the second key.

Re: Mirror Down / Spare Key
Thanks guys.
I always thought that the keys had their own 'identity' and could do different things. I learned this from my Audi previously.
When I first got the car I set them both up the same. Only recently has the key I use seemed to have lost it's way and even then only on the mirror down/reverse function.
Will have another fiddle with it tonight once the Mrs has gone out with her mates (does that sound bad ? )
Will report back asap!

Re: Mirror Down / Spare Key
Doh!
Sorted this out now! As usual, dead simple! [both the problem & me it would appear... ]
The mirror down/reverse function did work. It appeared not to as both the 'normal' and 'down' positions of the mirror glass were the same! I still don't know how they had realigned with each other, as previously the 'down' position had been set differently.
As I was investigating I noticed the mirror glass 'twitch' slightly when engaging reverse. This made me think that it was working after all. Obviously the normal and down positions were not exactly the same, hence the glass moving slightly when changing to the down position.
So there we have it !! No problems after all.
Have a good weeked y'all
