Handover took place tonight.

Poor weather, but I was determined to get a few photos on what is officially Day 1:

My more-than-helpful salesman from Donnellys, Londonderry, hands over the keys:

 Good stuff. You should start a blog (if you haven't got one already). Mine should of arrived in Sherness today, just waiting for these VW systems to boot up again :D

Just a quick question with the truffle leather. In the photos it doesn't look like its obvious there is a truffle leather, is this true when you look at in in person? or is it just photos in general.

Looking out of my living room window at the car, it's clear that the seats are truffle.

But it's a rare one:

One saleswoman I spoke to described it as, "Think Orangutan!"

It's nowhere near as vibrant as that, although digital cameras can make it appear more orangey than it really is.

For example, here's a shot I took tonight:

Image

It's like the colour in the VW Catalogue - much more orange than it actually is!

Compare that with a couple of shots I took a few days ago:

Noticed that before 'take off' from the dealership.

It does get in the way ... clutters what is already a small viewing area out of the back window :magnify:

Sorree mate, your dealer is cuckoo. Was looking yesterday at a brand new Sumatra Scirocco TDi in shipment whch was produced/finished on 15th June 2010. Model Year MY2011.

Chrome was standard with the GT TDI; I definitely didn't ask for it. Very satisfied with it - and with the car in general ... in fact, I'm only home, and have the urge to go out driving again!!

Got to be something for which I can go on a search :detect:

Is your the 140 or 170? As i really like the look of them and would like them on mine but mine is only 140.

It's the 170.

They do look good ..... but then I'm looking at other 'add-ons' and thinking, "I'd like one of those too!"

Where will this end...... :grumpy: ?!

That's about it :p

Right ... I fancy some dry roasted's ... must be going :yummy:

Got a raft load of visitors coming to my house tonight - looking for an excuse out as I don't want to get into this 'Can I've a run in her?' thing.

So much for an easy first 1000 miles with every other aspiring speed merchant behind the wheel!!

Looks great Searchin  - but get that sticker out of the back window...

The Truffle looks really good against Sumatra, a really good choice.

Have fun this weekend.
