Hi everyone, just been informed by the dealer that the alloy pedal caps that ive ordered for a manaual GT are no longer available to order in the UK, only DSG ones.
Am i gonna be able to get some elsewhere and just fit them myself, gutted i really think they set the car off!

this has been mentioned before Steve, they were discontinued at the beginning of the year & it was only residual stock being sold. if you have a few other dealers round you see if they have any stock left otherwise you will need to go order the Audi TT set which is slightly more expensive iirc but identical. part numbers may be found in interior decor somewhere or be nice to Deacon later as hes just fitted them to his car

Its utter garbage. they still exist as they still fit them to new cars as standard!!!
You'll prob need to order the individual covers rather than the boxed set though.

I know, i wouldnt mind but the mark up on them is crazy, you'd think they would grab your arm off!
Why not the box set fella? Are they different then?
Also, might sound silly, but do i have to tax it initially if its a new car or is that part of the price?

it will be taxed (read the small print on the order
) & should have 7 days insurance with VWinsure so you can just drive it away

I agree this has to be wrong if they still fit them to the Scirocco R, Golf GTI etc. Maybe they are changing them and the part number is changing too?

Well the guy said they cant order them for the uk anymore, thing is with the gti/r is that they will be put on as part of the build process and not at the dealers.
Bleedsoff: Ahh mate what a nightmare, basically becuase of all this 2 week shutdown, i got the leasing company to check with the dealer about it. Which they did and come back saying it was true and that it would now be a september delivery. Luckilly tho the leasing company found a new build that is waiting for delivery at the dock, BUT it has parking sensors. They (the leasing company) have agreed to swallow the cost because they had promise me end of july delivery!! Touch! So ive now been told i should take delivery next week sometime, the are waiting to get me the reg num so i can sort insurance. Im not holding my breath tho, ill beleive it when i get the call saying its ready for collection....
Although ive gained parking assist, im a little gutted about the pedals as i really wanted them on the car from day 1, and i didnt really want to have the hastle of fitting them myself :/

I tried 5 local vw garages for the pedals individually, none could supply them. So I tried audi. They don't do a kit but could supply the individual pedals. Part no's are-
U1k27216014j4
U1k07211314j4
U1k2721503l
Total price including vat was £119.67. The tool for removing the pedals is on back order from vw germany. I gave up after 5 weeks of waiting for it especially as I had used a couple of screwdrivers to bodge it and release the old pedal.

just bought them for my Gt manual last month from shop4volkswagen genuine vw part 97 pound i think dont bother with the fitting tool theres a long wait for it and u can do the job in less than 5 minutes with2 flat head screwdrivers
vw main dealer wanted 100 pound to fit gave me some bullshit saying u had to disengage engine management system
all crap just turn ignition off and fit simple part no for manual pedals ik2664200
