Hi,
I ordered a new 2010 model scriocco with cruise control a while back, the dealer has said its in!
....... but they cant retrofit the cruise control anymore to the new model??.... but they used to on the older ones??
does anyone know why and is there a way of retrofitting the cruise maybe not through a main dealer?....
Cheers....
PS if someone could come back asap as I need to let the dealer know to have it without or wait another month!

cruise control can be retrofitted on cars built up to week 45 last year (mid nov)
to retrofit on a MY2010.5 (after week 45 last year) car, as I gather from
here, it is more expensive than the factory option as you require more constituent parts, the stalk/steering control is not a separate part but all one bit now.

VW still have no news on the retrofit kit and I've been waiting since November.

Shame would of thought about retrofitting cruise after 6months once I get my car. Ah well VW missing out on some money making.

Have to say, customer service aren't much better either. My conversation was something like:
Them: "Yeah, there was a change in November last year and it affected the cruise control kit. This is what the issue is."
Me: "With due respect, thanks for stating the beeding obvious! What I want to know is when the new kits is coming out"
Them: "Erm, we don't know yet but if you check back in a month it might be available."
Me: "So let me get this straight, no only can't one of the biggest conglomerates in the world get a kit produced and delivered within 8 months of a previously forecasted model change, but you want me to do the legwork on chasing up something that I've already paid for?"
Them: "Erm, well, erm we've had to get it tested all over Europe, America and Oz to make it safe..."
Me: "But you don't export the Roc to the USA or Oz do you?"
Them: "Ahh, don't we?"
Me: *facepalm*
Me: "I would like someone to call me as soon as the kit is available and I expect some sort of compensation for my wait... And don't you dare mark me as 'satisfied'!"

Email via the German VW site your request for its availablity.
Use English stating C.S-M.K. cannot provide the answer and the length of time you've waited.

When I was in the dealers today I asked about having cruise retrofitted to a 59 reg car. After first being told it wasn't possible due to cruise needing safety approval it then turned out it was possible due to having PK1(?) or something? Totally lost me but the general jist seemed to be that if cruise was fitted in the factory it was approved but fitting it as an after market job needed some other special approval after a certain date.
