Need a new tyre

Hi guys

13 days old had a lucky escape on a motorway (guy in front skids off into the right-hand barriers in a laden vectra, takes out a lamp post which comes hurtling to me - luckily I go over it rather than it coming through my windscreen)

Among minor alloy damage and a shattered side plastic trim, it slashed one of my tyres

Having done 350 miles, should I be concerned about matching tyre ages on the axel, or are they all too new to worry about that?

How about tyre types? I could het a tyre fitted today but it would not be Dunlop like the others, but a Continental.

Thanks for your advice

No need to worry about age cause the tires are brand new but it would be good to match the model of the other tire on the axel. Being different you would experience different grip, noise and tire wear, which in critical situations like the one you had would be very dangerous. You were lucky (or just a good driver :))

Yeah, I guess your right. The tyres played a part of getting me out of the pickle, I would be silly to compromise that.

Not looking to cheapskate, just impatient!

Got another tyre coming from eytres - £151 including mobile fitting

Surely Vectra man is paying for it? His smash put a lamp post in your path. I'd get him to pay for the alloy, side trim and a tracking check too.
