Standard Audio vs Dynaudio

Chaps,

Ok I have finally placed my order and the only thing I couldnt decide on was Dynaudio.

Currently I havent included it in the order (and it would be nice to save the cash) but I wanted to see what people thought of the standard system.

My current car has terrible audio and its one of the things i wanted to sort with the new car.

I cant seem to find a dealer that has a car with it fitted and when I asked they said that it rarely gets ordered..

So what do people who have/dont have the system think of the two systems, has anyone managed to hear them both to compare?

Any help is as always greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

Get it or regret it !!
You will kick yourself if you don't especially as you have had to live with the misery of a poor system. i did once too and it was 3 years of misery. never again.
£300-400 pounds is nothing in the grand scheme of things when you are spending £20k plus on a new car

Mate of mine specced this option on his C70, its awsome, real teeth rattler when you turn it up :headbang:

I reckon it depends more on how loud you have your tunes. Mine hasn't got Dynaudio and it sounds really good, but at age 36 I no longer have it so loud my ears bleed! The only options i regret not having are DAB, folding mirors and xenon lights. I know someone with a C30 with Dynaudio and it did sound brilliant (well as good as R n B music can) but like i say, unless you really pump it the standard system is bob on.

By the way, interested in what your previous car with the rubbish system was?

Anyway, off to get drunk now so happy new year folks.............

The volvo option is over a grand and includes sub, it's much more powerful than the one in the VW, I recall it having over 1000w of power. Just wanted you aware so you don't use it as a comparison :yummy: It is amazing tho but for that price it should be!

what silver130 said....

300 quid is nothing in the scheme of a £20K odd purchase.

I spent a lot of cash in my late teens on car audio, £300 is very reasonable for an upgraded amp and decent speakers. I suppose it depends how much you REALLY like your music!

Ok chaps I think you have convinced me. To be honest it was always in my spec till i ordered but strangely the dealer that i bought from said that it rarely gets ordered, so i started thinking that perhaps its not necessary.

I am popping over to a dealer today to have another listen to the standard system just to make my mind up but my gut feeling is i am going to go for it.

Thanks for the advice chaps.

Ok have now had a chance to listen to the standard system and ... it sounds pretty good !!

Granted I had the dealer in there with me so it was difficult to really crank it up but there seemed to be a fair amount of volume there and the quality seemed pretty good during my brief play).

What are the specs of the standard system? I can find some info for the dynaudio system but dont seem to be able to find specs (power output etc) for the standard setup (unless i am a bit blind :-))

What are the main areas where the dynaudio setup scores over the standard?

Cheers,

Chris

P.s. I feel that I might be unduly easily impressed at the moment as I currently have a 206cc (Dont ask, rash purchase .. it was summer and it had a fancy roof rofl :-)) and the standard sound system in that is crap...

Just to add my thoughts, I was very impressed with the standard system on my test drive, good sound, and good bass when you turn it up in the system settings.

Ok guys, you've sold it to me ...£350 quid to add it .. done!!

One of the lads in the office is a bit of an audiophile as well and says its well worth it..

You guys should work for VW (or Dynaudio :-))

Cheers,

Chris

i also had to have dynaudio, as i use to be fully into bass (i was slightly chavvy to be fair, and dont mind admitting it  ),

im not into loud music now as such, but the quality of the dynaudio is so much better than standard

heres my system in my mk2 golf, it was quite loud
