Scirocco SOLD

Post by iroc »

Just a quick note to say that I have sold the Scirocco, it was for no particular reason other than I have been looking around for a TTS for a good few months and have finally found one at the right money so had to take the plunge and go for it.

I would just like to wish you all the best with the rocco's and I will log on now and again to see how things are going.{if you don't mind}

That's all for now apart from wishing you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Probably the first person on a forum to own one weren't you?

Sorry to see it and you go but I can't argue that the TTS is a lesser car :) Have fun with it.
Out of interest (and you don't have to reveal any figures if you don't want to) did you suffer much depreciation in the 3-4 months?

I'd be interested to know too matey, dont worry if you dont want to share but because of the crunch the BMW M5 has fallen to silly money and I have always wanted to have a play with the V10 power house and I am on the look out for the right car myself instead of throwing money at mods on the Roc :)
Car is now Sold!!!!! BMW 7 Series for now as nice and big but holding out for something a little special as my toy :)

Kev, obviously I am sorry to go but as already said I will popin now and again to see how things are going.{if permitted} ;)

Down to the serious stuff. I know I have not picked the best time to swap but if I said more than one group buyer offered 17.5k but eventually got an offer of 19k.
Fortunately I have some good contacts in the Audi network and managed to get a very good discount off the TTS.

A main factor now is that VW are incentivising the dealers at the minute to get cars out the door and are able to sell new roc's at a lower price than used, {according to one source}.

I will let you know how I get on with the TTS but upto now.. :woohoo:

PM me if you are serious about the M5 as I have a very good friend who is the used car sale manager at a large BMW dealership and I will put you in contact.

Of course.
And as Andy just said, thanks for all your help and knowledge for the fellow owners and owners to be. Being one of the first in you're hands on knowledge was invaluable in getting things going.

Sounds like you got a reasonable deal. Basically just lost out on the VAT.

That can happen to anyone its just unfortunate, these bastards target anyone with cars like the TTS they are stolen to order! My brother has had it twice, once with his Subaru STi-8 PPP Secondly with his EVO VII RS Sprint, I had the same problem two weeks after I got My S2000, luckily only costmetic damage and each time we disturbed them, in the end we had to install a camera and the new house has electric gates too so no problem! My Dad years (brand new) ago had his beloved Mk 1 Golf Gti Revage stolen and it was never seen again.

Iroc enjoy it mate and don't let the stories worry you, my family certainly hasnt and we have had our fair share, just add a few detterants :)

Yeah seen it. There have been a couple but not that near to where I live.

You can't live your life worrying about thieving scumbags otherwise you would never have anything.

I intend to enjoy it and if it gets nicked, well, there's plenty more out there.

Have a good new year all. :bigthumb:

How did you work that one out Kev?
Iroc's car seems to have a very similar spec to mine (DSG, Leather, Sat-Nav, etc) and I paid around 27k for my car, so I doubt he paid much less...
If I sold my car now and only got 19k for it, I would have lost 8k in just 3 months!!! :(

Ah didn't look that closely at the spec :dunce:
I was just guessing it was midrange 23-24k. Didn't spot he had the DSG, roof and the nav all together.
