I have lost interest.... I am trying my best to avoid the forum; which is VERY difficult with all these lovely photos! I still have no build week! Nov 1st order......

I am thinking it MUST be the pana roof on my spec.... will be interesting to see if those in my position have anything in common with me

Sigh! I go on holiday next week so that will keep my mind off it for a while (middle of nowhere In IReland with no internet connection at all!) and I may have some news when I get home (fingers crossed!)

Car Was Dockside 6th of March
in the UK on the 16th
and I'm still waiting for it to appear at the dealers. was told it would arrive tuesday , then of it will be here weds
fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow ...

I did see a Black one at the dealers today (first one I have seen) manual no options. The cloth seats are very comfy, supportive and they look very nice with the black paint.
The Wheels looked great, even though they were just 18". (It does sit lower than a GT, but still not quite enough for my liking). looks very mean in black

I ordered mine mid Nov,was told[unconfirmed] build week 14 last month, went to the dealers Friday and have been put back to [unconfirmed] week 16 I think it must be the DSG thats the problem

Yup I'm just about the same spec as you Lady and I'm week 17 uncomfirmed still orderd in Nov.

Not to stick the knife in guys but i DO have a confirmed build week of 15 and I have ordered pretty much most of the popular optional extras except the pana roof so maybe it is that that's holding everything back... I ordered on Nov 20th but was part of my dealers Dec allocation.

may be a silly question, but why would the pano roof delay delivery

The production line is a "just in time" operation like all car plants. Something will be holding the cars. More inclined to look at it being the engine as others on the delivery thread aren't reporting delays for items like Pano roofs or other sub assemblies/equipment.

1.4TSi & 170 diesel have had delays in the past and these engines appear to be "batched" to the Setabul, Portugal VW factory. The "R" has most likely sold faster than VW anticipated which has meant the engine availability from the Engine Factory at Saltzgitter may be being given priority to Wolfsburg. VW may have been given too slow a delivery rate to Saltzgitter, given the "R" allocation was over the whole year, not sold out inside months (ie. all allocations taken by dealers, not customer orders).

It's because the Panoramic Roof is a very popular option and the supplier can't supply enough to VW to meet demand. Though I reckon the delays are not related to a specific option.

Without wanting to annoy anyone.....I am picking mine up on April 9th. Have ordered a candy white with DSG,leather, cruise control, Panoramic roof and parking sensors. Really nice to see some pictures on this forum. Have a 2.0 TSI at the moment and LOVE it, can't wait to drive the 'R'

I ordered mine on Dec 29th. Build week 16 was confirmed a few weeks ago but silence from the sealer since. Hopeing to pick it up the 3rd week of May - but who knows!

Had the call TODAY!

Mine is at the dealership now. Was BW9 - tracker being fitted and collecting next thursday - ready for the Easter hols -perfect!

Having a poke around tomorrow!!!

Ordered it in November. Thisis the worst experience I have had with a car ever. Not happy

Cheers for that mate.....Ordered mine end of November, hope they dont change mine to 21, I will be devastated if they do!! The thing that is annoying me is that there are plenty of 'R's available to buy from the dealers and we've ended up waiting over 6 months, it stinks! Im gonna phone them and have a moan...lol

got a phonecall today been put back to wk 22!!!!!!

Yeah I honestly don't know what's happened. My dealer is being rubbish and cant seem to find a route for me to make a good official complaint. Pissed off

Really feel for all those who r now getting BWs put back. Feel very lucky I got mine built and delivered on time.
