hi guys, iv seen online that on the RCD510 and bluetooth premium, you can view your sms message on screen?

wanted to know if this is true..... also if you can reply via the touchscreen by text?

if anyone has pictures or a video can you upload on here please as i cant find one anywhere.

also can u have an external dvd player connected to rcd510?

1) No - you can see them on the Highline display though
2) No - you can't send text messages via the RCD510 or your phone whilst it is connected via rSAP
3) There are none - see 1) above
4) Don't know - possibly via the "Aux in" facility? I wouldn't expect it to play video though

if your phone is connected to rcd510 how come your sms wont come through to phone?

Bescause the Bluetooth Premium is not a bluetooth headset, but is actually a Nokia phone bolted to your car (under passenger seat).

i understnad that, but a phone has the capability of doing sms too.

No, not the Nokia bolted to your car.
And that is a good thing, because that means that the sms's only arrive when your real actual phone is released by the in-car-phone.

I can see SMS on the highline display on my car, you can receive SMS but not send.

In addition they also dont transfer to your phone, so if you receive an SMS when you are driving then you cant view it on your phone it stays on the car.

You have the option to copy it to your phone though!

when you view the sms on the highline press the options and copy to phone, then on your phone goto messages main menu and in the options go into sim messages and select the text you and copy that to the inbox folder.

sounds complicated.,,,, wish i never got the bluetooth prep installed now.

Have to say I have found the Premium Kit to be great - the text message feature on the Highline display is really good- you can also use as a conference phone (when not driving of course:) - I may get some stick but I think the kit is great IMHO

only let down with premium bt is that the amount of phones that do not work is not good.

i want to get the new htc desire, would that work?
