Mega confused - Spare wheel stuff

Hi all
I have a 2.0 TDi 170 Scirocco.... During my alloy wheel fiasco (a long story....) my space saver wheel from the boot was fitted by The Wheel Specialist whilst my alloy was being refurbished.
Today I was cleaning the boot out and thought I'd look under the boot floor, where the space saver is. I am mega confused as I appear to have possibly acquired an extra towing eye and another VW part which I don't have a clue what it does. These parts (pictured below) do not have an (obvious) place in the foam storage tray that sits in the spare wheel.
The "extra" towing eye is silver, but I already have a black towing eye in place in the foam tray. The silver one was loose (and probably the cause of a boot rattle I have heard.....). I also have two 'pockets' of the foam tray which are empty - am I missing items?! Both the silver towing eye and the black unknown plastic part are VW parts as they are stamped with the VW logo.
Could someone perhaps take a photo of their setup (as it is from factory) so I know what bits I have in addition to what I should have, where it should all live, etc. etc.
Any thoughts appreciated!
Thanks.

Silver goes in the front position, black goes in the rear position for the toe hooks. They have different diameters so don't interchange. Interestingly, I've only been supplied with the front silver hook eye.
The two "depressions" near the wheel bolt wrench in the polystyrene mold are empty on mine.
Has the black circular part got a 6 digit part number and possibly 7th = a letter, molded into it somewhere?

Thanks RW1, I will have another play with trying to fit the hook eyes into the foam tray, but I think there is only room for one of them.
Yep the black circular part has this on it: 1 J0 971 260 E
I think it is J0 anyway, and not JO. It also has this on it: TUCKER P-1358. And also 23 moulded into it.

Definitely only one towing eye will fit in the polystyrene. I don't know which one to carry around with me now?! I guess if silver is for the front, then that could be more useful if the car had to be winched onto a low-loader if it broke down.
Do other people only have a silver towing eye? Am I the only one to have a black and a silver one?!

My silver one fits the other way round (180') to the black one in the photos.
Part Number is 1J0 (zero), it make sense. It's a retainer (clip on cover protective cap)for the battery gound strap but why its in the boot???? May have been used for somthing else.

May have been left by Assembly Line associates by accident.

I wonder whether the towing eye had been used to secure your car whilst on a transporter and hand not been put back properly.
However the whole idea of having 2 different towing eyes for front and rear seems ludicrous and an unnecessary extra cost.

I have 2 towing eyes and was confused, didn't realise they have different diameters, like you no place for the second one. Am told they are not suitable for towing they are really intended to fasten the car down on a transporter and are probably ok for winching car onto transporter but if you try and tow with it you will probably cause damage.
I think the black plastic thing is used to undo or tighten the space saver securing nut

Finally found one of these items in the engine bay behind the right hand headlamp unit up against the inner wing. It's part of an earth stud assembly. Couldn't find the equivalent in the boot.

My silver towing eye was in the car's spare wheel area when I got it, dealer gave me the black one loose. As I don't intend towing anyone, it stays in the house and not in the car (I don't need another cause for the boot to rattle!).

My car arrived at the dealer this morning and it still had the silver towing eye attached in the front and the black in the rear, will let you know where they end up

Dealer mistake
The silver one is just for transport on the boat and truck to secure the car.
But you get two for one, in case you want to secure your car to the garage floor.
