If you play a DVD in the system what type of sound reproduction do you get it, is it stereo or does it pick up the surround sound info?

I'm afraid I can't answer your question, but I am interested to know if the standard RCD 510 can play DVD?

I am looking to put my Itunes library on DVD and then play it in the headunit as a big audio cd (I'm not sure if this possible), but I am more concerned that a DVD may damage the head unit. It says somewhere in the manual that a "DVD plus" is thicker then a CD and could damage the headunit.

I would grateful of your thoughts.
