This potentially could affect me as it seems likely my Golf R won't arrive until after 31st March.

As I understand it, the dealer or VW will have to take the hit. You pay whatever is stated on the your order form.

Taxes & any increase in RFL is passed on to the customer normally like the recent change in VAT (although VW and some other manufactures have paid the extra 2.5% until Feb 28th)

There was a waiver ("NB: VAT IS CALCULATED AT THE CURRENT RATE OF 15% AND THIS ORDER IS NOT PROTECTED FROM ANY INCREASE IMPOSED BY H M CUSTOMS AND EXCISE") on my original order form for the VAT increase.

I have since received a revised order form with the increased VAT. This is fine - it was agreed on conclusion of the sale that I'd have to pay the extra VAT.

There is nothing in the T&Cs of my order form stating increases in RFL and other taxes will be passed on to the purchaser. So - as far as I'm concerened - I'm protected. Whether the dealer is of the same opinion, I'll have to wait and see. I haven't broached the subject with them yet.
