Interlagos or Lugano?

New poster guys, only my second post - not on here much
I am coming from a car with 19" wheels, which I think look very nice, but the ride does get compromised
I have a Rising Blue Scirocco GT on order, but the order only went in a day or so ago, so still time to chop and change the dealer says
After much deliberation, I went for the standard Interlagos, but I am just back from the dealer who now have a rising blue with 19" Luganos parked in the showroom and I'm split minded again!!
On my current car, the difference between the factory 18s and the upgraded 19s was night and day - entirely different look to the car with the 19s - but I can't help but feel that on the Scirocco, the 18s and 19s are not ALL that different - in the sense that they don't really change the whole look of the car, only a subtle change
Just wanted your opinions on this guys? How many of you have the 19s, and what are your general opinions / thoughts on the above? Worth the extra? Ride quality etc?

For me, i ordered mine when the car first came out, and 18" was the only option, that was fine until i saw one with the 19" and damn i wish i had them, they look so much better, so for me i would say get them.

Personally, I prefer the 18" wheels you get. I don't think the design it different enough to warrant parting with the extra cash.

having seen them in the flesh on one car out of 20 at the weekend, agree with Ashley, not worth the money, they are lovely but the design is not different enough to be distinctive and thus for anyone to notice the difference unless there are 2 'Roc's parked next to each other....

Said driver with 19's at the weekend feels they are too heavy for the car & don't benefit the ride at all. If you really want some 19's look for some aftermarket lighter ones..

I disagree. Whilst I agree that the standard 18" Interlagos wheel is one of the nicest standard fit wheel around, it's also fitted to the Passat CC which is another reason why I spec'd the Lugano. Who wants to be the same as a Passat, as nice as the CC is? I have seen them in the flesh and am very glad I spec'd them as they are different, they remain OEM but more importantly bigger!

thats your opinion ontherocs I am just passing on the opinion of the driver from the weekend, my personal opinion is to get some aftermarket 19's if the op agrees with that opinion but specifically wants 19's on the car

Trix, not everyone at the mag agrees with the driver who runs the Viper roc though (sorry I am a subscriber to the mag so have been following their story)

fully accept not everyone has that opinion but all opinions should really be aired otherwise its not exactly a balanced arguement.

Am positive Luganos are an option on Passat CCs as well, so I don't see why spec'ing them on a Scirocco is differentiating yourself at all.
In my opinion, if you want a better looking scirocco, then you need to look outside VW and buy something just that little bit more special.

Personally I wnet for the 19"s as I like the look of them. To me they are different enough to warrent the outlay.
As for them effecting the ride I would expect it to be slightly harder. Regarding the weight ruining the dynamics I doubt very much any one will be able to notice an more then running a different make of tyres or running on old ones!
If you like th elook of them get them. It's that simple.

I prefer the 19's but its your choice. I think they look better although the 18's look good aswell.
I think that you should consider it yourself and decide yourself.
Its' your opinion that counts not ours

I'm going with 19" .
I had 19" wheels on my MKV Golf, The 19" wheels do make the ride a little firmer than the 18" but nothing drastic, ride was still very comfortable. + Dont forget you have ACC to soften the ride up to if you want.
