Oil Consumption

I'm just about to take delivery of my new 'rocco, leaving my beloved GTi (Mk V). Now for all I love the Golf, it does drink Longlife - probably 1/4 litre every 1000 miles. I would expect the same from the 'rocco - same engine - tweaked a bit...

Anyone got any figures?

Also - does it really run well on 95 petrol - always used 97/98 in the Golf..

Cheers

Again none in 2500 miles.

Think you'll find it comes down to how the engine is run in. The manuals always state that you 'may' need to top up every 1000miles but thats the worst case. People with 2.0tDis were also topping up every 1000 miles wehereas mine was more like every 10,000.
