Auto Lights

Post by yellowplum »

Just wondered if anyone knew about how sensitive the automatic lights on the car are. I've always had auto lights on the last two cars I have had but this option is a little strange on the Scirocco. It seems when you drive on a motorway at certain speeds, even on a sunny day the lights come on.

Any ideas?

Nothing in the manual about that one.

Can't speak for the sensivity as I don't use the option but the headlights will come on at 87.5mph (140kph) if the central controller has the option switched on.

mmm i was wondering why my lights were on the other day on the motorway when it was really sunny, so if your flying along and your lights come on the police will know what speed you are doing lol.

why do they come on at 87.5 mph?

I converted 140kph.

Someone based in Europe might be able to explain the choice of value that can be programme into the Convenience Module by selecting it "ON" with the diagnostics. Equally that means it can be turned "OFF". It's not a variable parameter that can be set.

I've found the sensitivity of the auto lights to be way over the top on VWs, but now that DRLs are running off the dipped beam, all the auto lights seem to do is turn on the dash lighting when it gets a little dark, because everything else is already on!
