Hi.
Regarding dsg 6 speed on 2.0 tsi.
Two DIFFERENT strange occurences.
The first has happened twice- whilst cruising at 70mph, I manually selected 5th and gave some hard acceleration. After a second or so and around 90mph the dsg put itself in neutral (displaying (N) on the mfd) and consequently my engine revs went sky high as no gear was engaged. I quickly stuck it back in auto by clicking dsg stick to the right. Then it went back to normal.
The second different occurence- i was cruising around 60mph in auto and suddenly the dsg started to drop down the gears rapidly all the way nearly to 2nd. I had not done anything what soever I was steadily cruising on a level carriageway at 60mph.
Weird!?
I read something about a temp sensor or faulty mechatronic unit can put it in neutral?
Anyone else had this?
I've got a bluefin remap but this has occured befor the remap aswel as after the remap so can't see it being that. I will prob swap the map back to standard if I take it in so they can't blame that.
So the Car is now booked in with my stealer tomorrow afternoon. Explained the symptoms to a 'tech' from the service depo and he said he hasn't really heard of this problem before but is happy to check it out. So it's going to be on a diagnostic machine for an hour or so apparently. I'm going to have to wait around for this to be done. IF anything is found and work needs to be done they apparently don't have a courtesy car available until the 27th..that's about 8 days away.
My major concern is I will most probably be removing my bluefin map and putting it back to standard, my question is 'will this remove any fault codes that may have been logged regarding my dsg problem?'
I have read about people with the dsg problem having a diagnostics run and no problem found.
If this happens does anyone know how I should go about convincing them there is still a problem?
Cheers

langley
the first issue definitely sounds plausible that it is the temp sensor/mechatronics issue http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... ure+sensor
the dropping gears occurance i'm not so sure about, definitely send it in to get checked.
iirc bluefin does not reflash the ecu so should not wipe any error codes but i'm not 100% on that.

Re: DSG Problem- anyone else had this??
Thanks trix. I'm going to map it back to standard tonight so hopefully all should be well.
I'll just have to see what happens. I have a feeling they will tell me no faults were found and I'll have to prat about convincing them it does do it every so often.
My main concern is sorting this problem or potential related problem before the warranty is up!
Cheers

tell them to read up on the temperature sensor/mechatronics issue (there must be a report available to them from MK about it) you should have had the software update for this, if you are in any doubt about whether you have had the software update or not bang on about it as you should have been recalled for it!!

Re: DSG Problem- anyone else had this??
UPDATE: took the roc into the dealer today. Handed the keys over and a prewritten list of symptoms, thought this would be easier than telling them to the lass on the service desk and having her write them down again.
Sat around for 35 mins while they ran some 'checks'. I was then approached by a tech who seemed pretty genuine, before I had chance to say my prelearnt speech about how I heard the mechatronic units can potentially cause these symptoms. He said that at first they suspected the mechatronics unit but there seems to be abit more too it. The only fault the equipment was finding was a wiring fault to the main controller/ ECU !
To be fair he was being very straight up with me and not treating me like an idiot.
He said how they had checked their database for reports across the range of sciroccos & dsg problems but were fairly unheard of in the new rocs. We discussed the symptoms my dsg has and he did acknowledge dsg problems mainly stem from the mechatronics unit and temp sensor, causing the symptoms I have.
Anyhow it's booked back in on the 27th (soonest they had a courtesy car) and he said they will prob need it for a couple of days to run some actual wiring tests and start dealing with the master tech whom he mentioned would be involved, also mention of the tech line.
Soooo we'll have to see what happens, sounds like they need a few days to get stuck in with the car and figure this one out. Rather them than me!
I mentioned how I previously had a dsg car that needed a mechatronic unit after 2 years under warranty but that I knew how expensive it was outside of warranty so therefore wanted to catch this one early if it was on it's way out!
I'll keep you posted!

hi did you get the DSG problem sorted ? cheers.mine has just kicked in to neutral on a motorway .not a nice situation to be in.I LOVE THE CAR BUT VERY WORRIED THIS WILL HAPPEN WHEN Er IN DOORS IS AT THE WHEEL .
Re: DSG Problem- anyone else had this??
take it to the dealer!!! it is likely to a mechatronics issue as mentioned above
