Help! Scuffed Lugano Wheel

Hi All

When I thought my day couldn't get worse it did...managed to scuff my wheel on a car park kerb. After ridiculous amounts of swearing and still generally being annoyed with myself, I thought plenty of people must have done the same.

Just wondered if anyone knows of/can recommend a wheel refurbisher in the Cambridgeshire area. I will enquire with VW tomorrow about the cost of a new wheel but am expecting a 19inch lugano to be anything but cheap.

Any help much appreciated

Cheers

Unless it's a major scuff, I seriously doubt you'd need to replace the wheel. There have been a few people on the forum that have had top notch repairs done and the results aren't even noticeable. I've heard good things about 'The Wheel Specialist'.

Pictures of the damage might help though.

Another vote for The Wheel Specialist (Leeds branch). I had 4 refurbed last year and can't recommend them highly enough.

Yep, I used The Wheel Specialist (Fareham branch), did a fantastic job, looked completely factory/OEM

Richard99,

This is what I did.

Within weeks of getting my new Scirocco I managed to kerb one front wheel. I was going to get it refurbed - got a price and booked in with a garage. However, that very week I managed to kerb the other front wheel. Bugger.

So, I thought long and hard about it and canceled the booking. As the damage wasn't too bad (see link below) I decided to clean the area, dab it very carefully with VW touch up paint (which is VW Reflex Silver and under £5) and the next day clear varnished it too.

It's looks good (the colour match is damn near spot on) and at least I know my alloys are protected from nasty grit and grime getting in under the clear laquer.

I know it's not the perfect solution -but- if you stand back a few feet from the car and look at the alloys you can't see the damage at all. Only when you get up close can you see where I've touched up.

I guess it all depends on how bad your damage is (post a pic). See my post about it here http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... f=2&t=3580" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hope this helps
Gary

That's really useful info. I've picked up a couple of small stone chips on my alloys and was wondering how to deal with them. I'll get some this week.

Cheers matey
