Dealer washing car - aghhhhh

Post by adamj »

I am really fussy about washing my car, two bucket method, wash mitt, microfibre waffle towel and spend a fortune on cleaning products.

When I got the Rocco I was nervious about the dealer cleaning it for the first time but decided it was something they would have to do. I indended that whenever it go in for service I would just ask them not to wash it as I have done on my previous (non VW) cars.

So imagine my anger this morning when while calling in for them to fit a new wiper blade (a 10 minute job max you would think) 50 minutes later I see my Rocco in the "cleaning bay" being attacked by a guy with a stone filled sponge

I shot out and told him to "drop the sponge and leave the car" and to "just jet wash the soap off" (was probably washing up liquid really) Next thing he is attacking the half unwashed car with a silicon blade. So I shot out again and started shouting.

I complained to the girl on the service desk but she looked at me like I had two heads.

Morel of the story - allways no matter how small the job make sure you say NEVER WASH THE CAR if you are like me.

I will inspecting for damage later.....

Sorry to moan on but this has really p*ssed me off.

Yep I have previously put signs in my car.

I am sure you can imagin my feelings when I watched it "being attacked"

I really thought they would just fit a new wiper in the carpark 10 minutes job done so didn't have any worries about washing it...

Could of been worse though, another VW dealer near me has its own automatic car wash

Sorry to hear about this. Plenty of swirls on my black car after the dealer prep. Nothing I can't sort, but a shame nonetheless
