Hi all, my Roc is coming up to its first birthday,
so i rang my dealer to find out a price for a service!
Turns out my car is set up for long life service intervals!(not somethimg i requested when i ordered the car)
i was hoping someone could shed some light on the advantages/disadvantages of long life intervals as apposed to regular servicing?!
cheers dan

hmmm....I was expecting mine to be long life but when I collected it Saturday (it's 4 months old) they've set it up for 10,000 miles/1 year.
It seems if you have long life it might stretch to 17-18k miles between services, but the oil is considerably dearer as it is long life oil....not sure there's much else in it but not seen anyone able to do a proper cost comparison
Cheers
Chris

Mine was 1 in Oct and with 9500 miles had a service. Was under £200 which I guess was just an oil change!

Mine's on a variable service interval. The dealer asked what kind of driving I do..motoroway/inner city. I do a mix of both so he suggested that was the variable option was best. My car's 1 yr old next week and it was serviced about 2 months ago. After phoning round a couple of dealers and a bit of bartering I got the service for £89 (incl. VAT), ok, so it wasn't cleaned but don't think that's a bad thing! I can't remember what I had done..think it was just a basic oil change. They fixed a warranty issue too.

p.s. the car had done 9800 miles and the service message was on.
