Rear Seat Removal

Hopefully an easy one...

Had a bottle of bubbly given to me over Xmas, it was in the boot held in with that elasticated bit, all was good until I broke hard suddenly and heard a thud. Didn't think anything of it till I got home. Yup, bottle had smashed and deposited it's contents all over the boot trim. Nightmare.

Obviously I had to take most of the trim (boot trim/boot mat, rear bench) out to clean and dry it all to stop it from stinking. However, I've noticed part of one of the split folding seats is pretty soaked too. I can't see how to remove it though, any idea?

The rear bench is pretty simple, but the folding seats appear to be attached to a long bar, i'm guessing this is fixed underneath the rear doorcards? Or is it more simple to work them out?

:(

i havent looked into the scirocco one but on nearly all the vw's you have to fold both seats down, then inbertween both seats at the bottom theres a plastic cover, remove this and there will be a 30's torx screw holding a large metal "C" clip, then remove the metal and you lift the seat up slightly so it is just aboue the other seat at an angle and slide the seat so it comes off the bar, it may be tight so wiggle it whilst sliding.

like i said this is how it is on most of the vw's so it should be the same on the roc, let me know how it goes

It's a fiddly job. Nearly all of the rear side panels and trims need to come out so you can get access to the bolts. Loads of pulling and tugging at trims.
