Rising Blue VW Scirocco

Hi there! This is my brand new Rising Blue VW Scirocco, 1.4 TSi 122bhp.
Ordered on the 25th of June, arrived at dealers' on the 12.11, picked up on 12.12.
I went for the smaller engine to get higher mpg, lower taxes and more extras: 18' Interlagos, Sport Package with Alcatara seats, metal pedals, premium mats and tinted back windows, climatronic, MF steering wheel, armrest, RCD 510, winter package, lights and rain sensors, folding and heated mirrors.
I really wanted to get xenons too, but they were a bit pricy (1200euros) and didn't even have the new functions on the golf 6 with the dynamic cornering lights. I know it improves visibility and the look is great, but my budget was limited.
I bought the foot rest and the covered cup holder, just have to make time to install them. Maybe when the sun comes out :)

Now that's proper snow! And to think we moan about 2 inches!

And that's only about 15cm from the 30cm it snowed in the last 4 days. That was the third time from a total of 4 when I had to clean my car!

So, I swapped the Interlagos for some bad looking steel rims with winter tires. My main issue right now is whether to buy caps or not. Here are two pictures (none mine). Which one do you think looks 'better'?

ps:i know it looks like crap, but in winter the car is always dirty and the Interlagos rims are just not made for such a weather.

Both options looks equally hideous.

if you go steely's at least:
a) some people might think your doing it on purpose, and might actually think it looks cool lol
b) you wont have to worry about getting caps nicked or having to use cable ties to secure them

what ever you do get rid of the wheel trims, they make it look cheap!

you could always get some cheap winter alloys or have your steels banded (that would actually look quite cool!)

nice car BTW

Hey, thanks. The first nice thing I heard since I posted the pics with the steel rims.
By the way, what are the trims you're talking about?

I know it doesn't look good, but winter tires are mandatory(not because of some law, but 'thanks' to the horrible weather). The budget was tight and that's what I got...no turning back now. The questions was caps/no caps and not does it look good/bad cause I know the answer to the latter. :(

Some new pics with the latest mods!
It took around 2-3 hours to fit the covered cup holder. Would consider giving away a kidney for free instead of doing it again. Just can't understand how VW people can be sooo cheap not to fit it from th factory!

I do love that alcantara interior!! :yummy:
& +1 for having to be a contorsionist or a performing monkey to put the covered cupholder in!
