Short answer? none.

i got 3 points about 4 years ago and it didn't (seem) to affect my premium at all - I think with all the speed cameras and checks going on nowadays it's generally "accepted" that people are gonna have some points.

Any more than 3 and you might start seeing a problem.

Don't worry, won't make any difference, just make sure you tell them (including your current insurer)

1st "minor" offences (speeding, parking, traffic lights etc) are generally not penalised, some say it could make you a safer risk as you've had a wake up call. If you get additional points then they could think you are an habitual speeder/light jumper etc and will start to load the premium.

I managed to get 6 points, but this was my 1st offence and was 1 SP30 endorsement, so was overlooked by the majority of insurers

thanks guys... 100% correct by the way about the wake up call, I called my insurer, and they actually lowered my premium! happy days, by they way, im not saying people should immediately go out and get 3 points, i doubt it always works out this way.
