Well after placing an order in June (which is soon to be last year) I have been told that my car will be ready in Feburary!!
As of this morning my order is now cancelled, the dealer is going to keep it on order so if anyone want to know where to get a 2.0 TSI GT with the spec listed next to this message delivered in Feb, PM me and I'll let you have the dealers name and number.
Regards and Fairwell

thats shocking! i'm so sorry to hear you have ended up cancelling. did they give any reason why? (i'm guessing allocations though) did you speak to customer services & bring it up with them?

I think a few words in VW Customer Service's ear is well in order from you. Not a rant but to let them know your story. For a 2.0TSi, that is not acceptable. It not as though this model has had major ordering delays generally compared to other models.

I too came very very close to doing this, however the followibng things stopped me:
1). I think the dealer would have preferred me to cancel, as the money they could get for one sat on the showroom floor would have been about £4k more than I paid what with the deal I wangled, & the recent price increase
2). I desperately wanted the car
3). If I was going to draw a line under the vw ordeal, I would have looked into what I could have made from it, ie, looked to see what someone else would give me for my order.
I do understand how you got to this point though.

I was chatting to my dealer today, demand is so high for the Rocco that he stated id get my invoice price from 14 months ago minus £1000-£1500. I could be tempted to order a new Rocco next week and change early...
Thats cheap motoring for a year....

I've been thinking exactly the same, only thing putting me off is that I can't get anywhere near as good a deal on a new Scirocco than I did this time last year.

Im thinking maybe an R20. My dealers was saying there have been two waves of orders so far and guestimates that once the first orders arrive around March the order book will reopen.
If im feeling tight I might just order my car spec again.....

Does it not hold the production date back if you keep changing your order / spec? I thought Rhino changed his spec once or twice, I maybe wrong but maybe this was the reason for the 8 month delay????? I've been waiting 6 months......been a looooooong six months!!

i have been given a similar estiamted time of delivery as well, and i was also thinking of walking away.
looking at the situation, i think we are the victim of scrappage schemes across var. countries, causing overdemands on components etc.
Everyone were supposed to down tools etc all over the world, until the governments started all this.
I am not giving excuses but in the bigger scheme of things, i think other manufacturers are having similar delays. No one likes to make anything these days as they might end up parked up in some field.
in view of all this and having waiting this long, i have decided to wait on a little more.

I ordered mine back in august asnw as told it would be ready for collection in december. Ive since had 3 emails putting the date back. I now have a confirmed build date so I will be able to collect my car on the 1st March.
Not a major issue for me just annoying as I wanted to have it on the 2nd Jan. On the plus side it does mean that I have the later more powerful engine in it.
