How many miles on your new car?

Just wondering how many miles I should expect to see on my car when i collect it. My dealer (in Northern Ireland) emailed a couple of weeks ago telling me the car had arrived. I'm paying for it next month (at 15% VAT) but waiting until start of January to collect it so i can get it registered as 2010 (new plates issued from 1st Jan in NI).
As it will have been sitting in the garage for almost 2 months before i can drive it, i'm hoping that no one will be out driving it. How many miles did most folk have on their cars when they collected then?

I had six on mine.
However in the past was I told a new car would be ready on the Tuesday and because of work I could not pick it up until the Friday.
Even though it was regestered from the Friday it had 56 miles on the clock and I was not a happy bunny at the thought of some scrote of a sales man taking it out for a spin on trade plates before I did.

I think it got delivered to one central Oxfordshire place then had to be driven somewhere for the checks before being lorried to the dealer. Something like that anyway.

Doesn't matter as the car sits around being tested in idle.
They can "roll" the mileage
once anyway during the set up. The Scirocco, as with other VAG cars, comes with a "delivery" engine map in the ECU memory. The ECU is then reloaded with the "operational" engine map by internet download via the VAS5051 diagnostics kit in the workshop.
Mine on delivery at the pound had "TrA12 miles, the trip was 0.0. On taking delivery it had 13 and the trip had 13.5 miles. ??????? (The second photo shows 20 miles cos I drove it home (7.2 miles) before taking the second picture.)
On the 1.4 demo I drove while ordering, I couldn't have a test drive on the day the particular 1.4TSi car that had arrived while I was out testing the 140TDi diesel version. I had to wait a day while the workshop PDi was completed and the engine map loaded. That too had the same "different" odometer mileage display as in the 1st photo. This stopped the salesman straight away from even starting the car.
