ACC wasted cash?

Hi everyone

Ive driven my roc for 14.500km now, and can barely feel the difference between Sport and Comfort. I can feel the steering getting looser, but the suspension is barely noticable softer. Sometimes Im not even sure If I can feel a differense at all.

I tought it would be different like a lowered car compared to a standard car.

What are your experience with the ACC?

Thank you for your time

I definitely feel it, immediately and obviously. Only time I would not would be on a really smooth surface...

I can feel the difference

Sport mode is one step up from a drag on a shovel! but it feels very sharp in the corners

Comfort is like bouncy castle mode, it's almost too soft, you get a bit of pumping if you use it on bumpy roads and there is not much suspension travel, but it's nice for pottering about :)

Should be able to notice it, it tends to hunker down in sport and respond better and is soft in comfort but it is slight not a drastic change.
Was told by my dealer to leave in normal as in this setting the car will change its ride and handling automatically depending on how you are driving the car
But take it back if you feel its not right. What mode do you think your stuck in

Yeah sport mode is definitely tighter.
Comfort is also definitely more floaty.
But having said that, the standard mode is probably fine for all types of driving.

ACC is flawed that the steering feel is lighter when the damping is softened imho (why would i want less steering feel when the car is softer), i'ts no secret i am not a fan (its left in sport), car would ride and look better on some variant 3s

You can feel the difference, but I would say it's a waste of money if it were an option.

The system always adapts to how the car is riding on the road, not just in Normal as peter.vw's dealer has told him. I wont start on another poor dealer rant, but they really need to learn about what they are selling!! Its amazing what you can find out by actually reading the manual and doing some research, shame the dealers dont!!

I can tell the difference, comfort is far too wallowy. I tend to use that on motorways only and run it in sport for everything else.

Going to put some coilovers on it soon tho, I don't really need the ACC and would prefer the car to sit like a real sports car.

This is only my opinion but I think it is by far the best option on the car. I live in the country and the roads around here are simply horrific, if I don't have the car in comfort mode you literately can feel every bump in the road to the point where it is uncomfortable.

My friend has a new 3 series coupe and after he rode in the Scirocco he was amazed at how well the ACC adapted with the different modes, especially when compared to his car. He said the 3 series gave him back ache after a long journey although he does have the M sport kit together with 19's. He was so impressed he preferred the Scirocco to his own £32,000 car. Got to say though its not just him, everyone who has ridden in it thinks the ACC modes have a huge difference.

I visited the dealer yesterday, and they lend me a Passat CC wit ACC for 2hrs.
The ACC was alot softer on comfort than in my roc. And I could really feel the differense between sport and comfot.
But then again, It could just be that the Passat CC is supposed to feel softer since its not a sports car.

Next service I will ask them if its possible to adjust or diagnose the ACC

Does anyone know why the AAC button is on the other side of the gear stick? So if you were in 1,3 or 5 you cant see the button so if you have forgotten what mode your in your have to stretch round to see it?

Cos the rocco, like all VW's are designed and built for LHD, and RHD is merely an afterthought.

Still you would have thought that running a wire from a few centimeters would be too much of a big deal for them? Oh well....

you can move it into the central slot without any problem at all, if you want to move it any further over you need to cut a small nick out of where the button seats to accomodate the 'teeth'

candy monster did it in his when he installed the r32 trim & covered console about half way down on here http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... =38&t=1512 the standard fitted storage area in the roc has 5 button spots though (the second from the left & centre being the same) so its the fourth from the left you need to cut a notch in
