Hi, Congrats on purchase!

There is a good checklist on here for going over before you sign for your new motor. Definitely worth doing - I found a mark on one of my alloys within a few days that I cant account for, but I have no comeback.

Black is my second equal favourite colour! ;)

Hi Rockapot,

Funny that.. I'm also taking delivery of my motor tomorrow. Not had to wait as long as you (20 weeks for me). How the hell was is 8 months???

Enjoy your day.. I know I will

Post pics when you can. I'll try and post a quick one tomorrow evening if I get chance.

The car was ordered via Lloyds TSB autolease as it is a company car being purchased via an employee purchase scheme. Lloyds had originally stated that they where unable to place further orders for Scirocco's until 2010.

Anyway, just got back to my desk. My car has been delivered and its Awesome!!.
Will be offline for most of the day as a result so will post pics when i can.

Been driving it around this morning as I had to go get the parking permits sorted and transfered from my old vehicle etc..

The car is epic and I am surprised how fast is is compared to what i expected. The DSG gearbox was definately worth it. Also love the sound of the turbo :) however i must start driving it normally now for the first ~500 odd miles.

The RCD510 is also a lot more responsive than it is made out to be as I have seen some posts indicating it was sluggish. Not in my opinion.

rockapot, 8 months a hell of a long wait but at least you've now got the Scirocco. Congrats and enjoy!

I too have found the RCD510 quick to do things, maybe there's a firmware update in recent units. Also surprised how good the FM reception is in the Peak District where I've been with mine.

I doubt if I will ever go back to manual after this DSG. Agree, definitely worth the extra.

Live in Central London, work for a large IT Consultancy.., so if you spot a black Scirocco GT around London (Reg: FG58 ...) then its me :)

The one thing I did not get working was the USB media input. I plugged in an 8Gb USB hard drive and it did not pick up although the USB drive is a bit old so I will try a new one tomorrow. , I am also waiting for my media stick to arrive from Amazon in the coming days.

Still cant get over how fast it is!..., for all those waiting for their Scirocco's, you wont be disapointed!
