Lovely pics in the snow
Would you like to write a 'how to' on the pedals swap and the sills for the wiki?

car looks good i think white looks better in the flesh. Typical weather in Aberdeen bit crap for picking up your new car. The merlin cloth looks good. How easy were the pedals to fit? I stay in the central belt and having seen one down here yet is there many in Aberdeen?

Pedals were apiece of pish to fit, the brake and clutch were just pull off ppush on swaps. The throttle pedal required removing one 10mm bolt, and then poking a tool under the base in two places to release the clips, dead easy really.
There are a few in the area i think, only seen one private owned one on the road, bu tthe local dealer had two plated up ready to go last week. Plus they've got two demo's and another car in the showroom.
Just had VAg-COM hooked up, seems there are plenty things can be turned on / off. Didnt play for long, juts turned on the sounder beep for lock/unlock. But there were options for the running lights etc, so i'll have a play in the next day or two.

Hi,
I like the steering wheel "GT" badge, where did you get that from?
I am new to all this VW stuff, so what is the Vag COM?
Thanks
Nick

GT badge is available from any VW dealer or VW Speed. Vag-Com is a plug in that lets you clear fault codes or switch options on/off. Basically it's what VW use for setting up the car.

Nice car man, its just so much fun to drive. Any of your neighbours come over to see it?
I was up in Dundee this weekend, car was parked outside a resturant and I saw a few people going past stop to take pics of it - so you may get that further up north as you'll be the only dude running about in a Candy White Scirocco
How much did the VAG-COM stuff cost you? I didn't know it was something we could do at home until I read this post, I googled it and the cheapest I saw it was for £220.
PS where do you connect the cable to, is it somewhere in the cabin

think it connects to the port that is located on the drivers side up underneath the base of the steering column to the right hand side.
my tt has a switchable chip installed and its into this socket that i plug the controller for it.....
have a look, you should be able to feel the port - kind of feels like a scart socket, similar shape etc.
cheers

Aye, the connectoer is under the dash on the drivers side below the pocket under the headlight switch.
I bought the cable direct from ross-tech in the states a few years ago, bought the top USB cable so it was future proof, cost about £200 or so.

Thanks,
I might look into this, if I knew about it 4 months ago (when I had by Golf), I would have bought it then as I spent over £130 at a VW service centre find out what the warning lights on my dash were, they said the lights were caused by sensors (1st time by the oil temp sensor then 2nd time it was the knox sensor) but they cleared them and after a quick road test they never came back - I could have done that at home with this VAG-COM interface.
Finally after a third time I never bothered taking the car back as I didn't see the point as they weren't fixing anything or replacing anything instead I was paying £65+VAT per hour for the "investigation" - it cleared itself after that anyways
PS I take it VAG-COM is a bit cryptic or is it as simple as pressing a button that says "turn seat belt bong off" ?
