Okay, so I ordered my 'Roc on the 30th June 2009. Ive now had an update from the stealer who are "delighted to inform me" that my car is expected on the 20th November...

For those of you with those scientific calculator thingys, that works out around 23 weeks lead time!!!!

Is that ridiculous or what?!?!?!

I ordered mine around the same time as yourself but mines not expected until late 2009/early 2010! So you're not alone! I'll think you'll find everyone is waiting about the same amount of time.

Yeah, I ordered mine on 29th June, and it was a build week 44.

Latest update is that its built, waiting to get on the boat, so by the time it gets to the uk, then the dealer, and then to me it'll be about 13th Nov (Hopefully)

Ordered mine on the 22nd of June, mine's in the country and is being delivered on Wednesday next week, hopefully!

I ordered 18th Aug, its 4/5s built and will be shipped this weekend with retsilas, fingers crossed. I make that about 12 weeks.

tucker101uk, I also ordered my Scirocco on 30 June and I am expecting delivery on 10 November. So I'm not far behind you!!

So, that 19-20 weeks lead time!!! I was promised 10-12 when I ordered. I felt hoodwinked and blew my top with my dealer. Needless to say our relationship never really recovered.

I firmly believe that we hit a bad time at the factory. I think VW were decreasing production (trying to second guess the resession) just as demand for the Scirocco soared. A bad combination.

I too ordered on 30th June. However, I picked mine up on 20th Oct. That's 16 weeks exactly.

I am another that ordered on 30th June, although mine is a company car so haven't even got a date for delivery yet, I'm not kept in the loop as much as you guys with personal orders I guess. I was told on 23/10/09 that my car was in the process of being shipped before being with dealer stock "early November" and then onto me a couple of days after that. So I reckon 10-11th November will be about right for me too. Happy days now it seems real!!

Ordered mine on 26th June and pick mine up on Thursday 5th Nov !!!!

Hope it doesn' go up in smoke as 17 weeks of waiting is a long time

Ordered mine July 3rd and have finally got a confirmed build date of week 48. Initial build date of week 43 was put back to week 45 and then week 4 2010. Took a couple of phonecalls to VW customer service to get them to prioritise my order hence its now week 48. Also got VW to agree that if I don't get the car until 2010 they will pay the VAT. This will mean that it will have taken 21 weeks from ordering to build and 24+ weeks before I receive it, is anyone else worse than that?

Ordered 20th June, and I presume (hope!) it'll be shipped the same time as the other week 44 orders. However my dealer advised me today that delivery usually takes another 3 weeks! I hope this is just a conservative estimate on his part...

Ordered 16th June, Chased up 6 weeks later to find the order was sat on a desk - so order dealt with end of July - - delivery predicted mid December. 25 Weeks from the day I first signed the order! I win (or lose )!! Although admittedly the 6 weeks is due to incompetence of contract staff and not VW lead time...

In another thread I saw on here it says that vw have changed their delivery process.

Previously they were transported by train to Germany for their final checks, then shipped to the uk, however apparently they are now shipped directly from portugal which has almost halfed buil to handover times.

At least that's what I'm hoping, and will therefore get mine next week.

My dealer says they have no shipping dates, which I reckon translates as "I can't be arsed to look into this".

Surely cars in the same build week will have the same shipping and thus similar delivery dates? It's taken the piss that it's taken 6 months, to be honest. There has been an exponential increase in "Rocs on the roads since then, disappointingly, don't tell me they were all ordered in the first half of the year....

I ordered my car on 6th July and just got an email from my dealer today saying it's been delivered to the garage. Unfortunately i'm working offshore in US now so cant get it. also it's ordered from NI and i'm going to wait until January to register it as 2010 plate so will have to wait another couple of months.

You will have to wait longer than January as I think the change is only in March?

As I mentioned earlier in the thread I ordered 30th june and had the call yesterday to say I can pick it up on Thursday 12th! Roc on!
